Armenian parliament passes several bills
The Armenian National Assembly fully adopted several government-drafted bills in the second reading during an extraordinary session on Monday.
In particular, lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to pass amendments and supplements to the laws on the state registration of rights in real property, state pensions and allowances and in Armenia’s Civil Procedure Code. The bills were backed by a total of 102 MPs.
A draft law proposing amendments and supplements to the law on ensuring the activities of officials and their social guarantees gained 99 votes for to also pass the second parliamentary reading.
Deputy Speaker Alen Simonyan, chairing the session, announced another special session will be convened later today to discuss the election of a new Supreme Judicial Council member.
Also, Simonyan said he has received a letter from the government proposing the parliament not to read the bill on the state duty for a second time.
