Summer conscription kicks off in Armenia
The 2019 summer military draft launched in Armenian, with the first conscripts drafted to the compulsory military service on Monday.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan visited the Defense Ministry’s central military assembly point to familiarize himself with the activities on the spot.
The army chief also met with the draftees’ parents to ask about their expectations and thank them for raising willing and patriotic sons, the ministry’s press service reported.
The replenishment of the armed forces is strictly controlled by the Defense Ministry, the leadership of the General Staff and law-enforcement agencies.
