PM praises athletes after Armenia wins 11 medals at European Games
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on Tuesday met with the Armenian athletes who won 11 medals at the 2nd European Games held in Minsk, Belarus, the PM’s press service reported.
Congratulating the athletes on making excellent appearance in the European Games, the PM assessed their performance as quite successful. “Your success will be a source of inspiration for future generations,” Pashinyan said.
Taking the opportunity, the Armenian leader asked the coaches and athletes about the course of the European Games. Thankful for the reception, the athletes and their coaches presented the results and dwelt on the problems and possibilities faced in individual sports. In conclusion, Pashinyan wished them every success in the run-up to the upcoming Olympic Games.
The Armenian athletes captured 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals at the European Games, taking the 11th spot. Armenia participated in the games with 37 athletes in 9 sports.
