Armenian FM to present outcomes of Washington talks in Artsakh – spox
Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan will depart for Artsakh on a working visit on Thursday, July 4, to meet with the country’s leadership, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan told a news conference on Wednesday.
Asked whether the minister is expected to brief the Artsakh leadership on the outcome of the Washington meeting with this Azerbaijani counterpart and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, Naghdalyan said the FM’s visits are part of a regular process and are conducted before and after such meetings.
“These visits are aimed at keeping Artsakh more involved, but it will in no way replace the issue of Artsakh’s direct involvement [in peace talks]. Naturally, this meeting will touch upon the issues addressed at the Washington meeting, which will also be discussed with the Artsakh leadership,” she said.
Separately, the spokesperson said Mnatsakanyan is due to attend an informal meeting of the OSCE foreign ministers in Slovakia on 9 July. On the next day, the FM is to participate in a conference marking the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership in Batumi, where he will deliver remarks.
