Armenia raises benefit of honor for Great Patriotic War veterans
The monthly honorary benefit for the Great Patriotic War veterans will double in Armenia, according to a decision adopted at a government meeting on Thursday.
The new measure sets the amount of benefit at 100,000 drams instead of the previous 50,00 drams, Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said.
Under the 2019 state budget, a total of 238,000,000 drams in benefit of honor for the veterans have been envisaged for 397 beneficiaries.
As of May 1 this year, honorary benefits have been paid to 318 veterans.
The minister said the decision will take effect on 1 August.
