Artsakh ombudsman discussed cooperation programs with Los Angeles authorities and Armenian organizations
Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan, together with Ombudsman of the Republic of Armenia Arman Tatoyan and the leadership of the Armenian Bar Association of the US, on the July 1-3rd, had a range of meetings with representatives of the authorities of Los Angeles and local Armenian organizations.
As the Ombudsman’s office reported at the meeting with the Los Angeles City Council Paul Krekorian and Deputy Mayor Nina Hachigian, Beglaryan presented the situation and issues of human rights protection relating to the local self-governance bodies of Artsakh. They exchanged ideas on possible collaboration, agreeing on continuing mutual contact.
Delivering a speech at the reception at the General Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles, Beglaryan expressed gratitude to General Consul Armen Baybourtian and the participants for continuous attention to Artsakh. He stressed that there is a need to direct more attention to building various capacities in Artsakh, stating his readiness to support Diaspora interested organizations and individuals to strengthen ties with Artsakh.
At the meetings with the leaderships of the Western Coast offices of the Armenian National Committee of America and Armenian General Benevolent Union, ideas have been exchanged on the ongoing and upcoming projects on Artsakh, agreeing on further deepening of the current cooperation.
The Ombudsman also had effective discussions with the board of the Armenian Bar Association, as well as, took part in some local community events.
