Armenia's ex-deputy health minister accused of corruption to be released on bail
A Yerevan first instance court ruled to release Armenia’s Former Deputy Health Minister Arsen Davtyan, charged with taking large bribes, on a bail of 15,000,000 drams.
The motion had been filed by lawyers Tigran Ghazaryan and Yerem Davtyan from Ghazaryan and Partners Law Firm, the company reported.
The former official will be released after paying the full sum, the firm said.
As reported earlier, Arsen Davtyan was caught taking a bribe from the director of a medical facility at his office by security agents on March 30. He was placed under arrest on 2 April.
Due to large-scale intelligence operations, the National Security Service revealed that the director of the Institute of Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology sought to gain the deputy minister’s patronage to develop favorable working conditions with him.
