Fruit and vegetable prices up in Armenia
The prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages reduced by 4.5% in Armenia in June 2019 to compare with May of the ongoing year, which was mainly prompted by 28.2% deflation in vegetables.
According to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS), 19.1% inflation was recorded in vegetable product group in Armenia in June 2019, compared to May 2019, with 3.8% inflation registered in fruit products in the same period.
According to the NSS data, the prices for dairy products, cheese and egg product groups rose by 4.9% in June 2019 to compare with June of 2018 and 0.7% deflation to compare with May data.
The prices for meat products rose by 3.1% and 0.6% in comparison respectively in June 2018 and in May of the ongoing year. The NSS data indicates 8.4% decrease in prices for sugar products in June 2019 to compare with May data.
