Armenia sees strong growth in carpet production
Armenia’s carpet production recorded a significant increase in the first half of 2018, the Statistical Committee told Panorama.am.
The country manufactured a total of 18.5 tons of carpets and carpet coverings from January to May this year, up by 1.7 times from the same period last year, when some 10.6 tons of carpets were produced in Armenia.
Carpet production volumes have been increasing over the past years. Namely, 26.3 tons of carpets and carpet coverings were manufactured in Armenia in 2018, showing a rise of 32.8%t from 2017.
The production volumes amounted for 18 tones in 2016 and 41 tones in 2015.
