Marble sculpture of Raffi gifted to National Gallery of Armenia
The marble sculpture of Armenian great novelist Raffi made by sculptor Yerem Vardanyan was gifted to the National gallery of Armenia to feature in the Gallery’s permanent collection. The donators are Lebanese-Armenian philanthropists Vahe and Sargis Seraytareanns who had preserved the artwork in their private collection.
“I am grateful to donators who periodically enrich the permanent collection of the National Gallery. As I have stated on numerous occasions, valuable pieces of art should be kept at the mother Museum,” Director at the Gallery Arman Tsaturyan stated during a handover ceremony.
As a sign of gratitude the Gallery representatives, in turn, handed a Certificate of Gratitude to donators.
As the Sculpture Department Coordinator at the National Gallery Mariam Davtyan noted some of the works made by Honored Artist of Armenia sculptor Yerem Vardanyan are kept at the Gallery collections and the latest gift will enrich the permanent collection.
