Rostransnadzor to conduct inspection after the incident in Sheremetyevo
Russian federal authority for transport oversight Rostransnadzor will conduct an unscheduled audit of the airline Nordwind after the incident with the plane, which was supposed to fly from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport to Yerevan.
"We will conduct an unscheduled inspection of the airline Nordwind for compliance with the requirements of air law," - quotes RIA Novosti representative of the agency.
Meanwhile, Russia’s civil aviation watchdog, Rosaviatsiya, set up a special commission in order to investigate the causes and circumstances of this air incident. However, it said that the pilot’s decision to abort the takeoff was justified.
As reported earlier, a Boeing 737 plane belonging to Russia's Nordwind Airlines cancelled its takeoff from Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport after a sensor went off indicating that there was smoke inside the cockpit.
