Armenia’s Investigative Committee releases details on soldier’s death in Artsakh
Armenia’s Investigative Committee has released details surrounding the death of Artsakh Defense Army soldier Volodya Galoyan.
As reported earlier, the 19-year-old soldier was fatally wounded in a military post in the country’s south on Tuesday night.
In an official statement the law-enforcement agency said on Monday the soldier attempted to kill a senior soldier of the military position with his service AK-74 assault rifle, but didn’t succeed.
Immediately after firing the shot, Galoyan fled the area, after which his body was found at around 50 meters away from the military post with a gunshot wound in the jaw and his rifle on his side on Wednesday, at 4:20am.
A criminal case has been launched into the deadly incident.
Preliminary probe is underway.
