Ivanka Trump congratulates Boris Johnson on becoming PM of nonexistent country
Ivanka Trump congratulated British lawmaker Boris Johnson for his imminent appointment as prime minister of the United Kingdom ― with a Twitter typo, Huffpost reports.
The daughter of the president ― who himself is well known for spelling mistakes on his favorite social media platform ― wrote “United Kingston” instead of United Kingdom.
Ivanka Trump later deleted her misspelled tweet and replaced it with the name of the country spelled correctly. But not before her error was immortalized online, with social media users saying she congratulated Boris Johnson for becoming the PM of a country that has never existed.
The marvellous thing about becoming the PM of the United Kingston, no matter how sincere or credulous, is that it is an Empire upon which the Sun will never set, especially having never existed in the first place. pic.twitter.com/OkeuRZu1by
