Top Armenian, Georgian officials hail ‘productive’ bilateral cooperation
At a meeting on Wednesday, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bhatadze reflected on a number of issues on the Armenian-Georgian bilateral agenda, expressing mutual confidence that further active partnership will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between the two neighboring and friendly states in a number of directions.
The top officials expressed satisfaction with the high-level trade-economic relations, stressing the need to join efforts to tap the existing huge potential, including through the promotion of new regional programs, for the dynamic development of these ties.
Mnatsakanyan and Bakhtadze positively assessed the productive cooperation between Armenia and Georgia within international organizations and at multilateral platforms. In the context of the 10th anniversary of the EU Eastern Partnership, the officials exchanged views on the future vision of this initiative and the steps to expand cooperation in this format.
The Armenian FM and Georgian PM exchanged views on a number of regional issues, highlighting the need for peace and stability in the region, as well as the importance of further cooperation between Armenia and Georgia in this direction.
The Armenian foreign policy chief also held a meeting with the local Armenian community representatives on the same day.
The minister assured that even though Armenia and Georgia are facing different problems in the region, they are united by a common goal – the regional peace and security agenda.
