Several options are being considered to arrange the return of the Armenian citizens from Egypt’s beach resort city of Hurghada, the deputy prime minister’s chief of staff, Varag Siseryan said.
“The problem is almost resolved. I would also like to inform that the Armenian government is ready to cover the costs of the citizens’ return from Egypt to Armenia via a charter flight,” he noted.
Speaking to Panorama.am, the Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said the Armenian Embassy in Egypt is taking all possible efforts to arrange the safe return of the Armenian tourists in the shortest period possible.
Anna Naghdalyan said the embassy is already in talks to arrange the Armenian citizens’ return today.
More than 100 Armenian citizens were left stranded in Hurghada due to the cancellation of the Hurghada-Yerevan flight. The Armenian Embassy in Egypt said the flight was cancelled since A & R Tour, a Yerevan-based travel agency which sold tour packages to the tourists failed to pay for it.
