Armenia’s economy minister meets with representatives of dairy companies
Economy Minister of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan met with representatives of dairy companies on Saturday, the ministry’s press service reported.
The meeting addressed the feasibility of signing long-term state contracts with private companies.
The parties also reflected on possible steps to remove export barriers, as well as prospects of making the domestic market more predictable and stable.
The producers presented the problems of the sector mainly concerning to tax reforms, infrastructure improvement and provision of high-quality dairy products.
According to them, high VAT not only affects the competitiveness of organizations but also poses health risks.
An agreement was reached with the dairy companies to summarize the recommendations and outline the further steps.
