Two Armenian citizens go missing in Russia flooding
Two Armenian citizens are missing in the wake of flooding in Russia’s Amur Oblast, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The ministry contacted the Crisis Management Center of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry after emergency responders received an alert from an Armenian citizen at around 2pm that his relative is missing after the floods in the region.
Russian officials informed that Ilikan River in Zeysky District swelled its banks on 22 July, as a result of which four people – one Russian and three Armenian citizens – ended up in the river. The Russian and one of the Armenian citizens managed to get out of the river, while the two other Armenian nationals went missing.
Russian rescuers continue search for the missing Armenian citizens, the ministry said.
