Probe into Yerevan travel agency fraud continues
Police are probing the alleged fraud case involving the A & R Tour, a Yerevan-bound travel agency.
“Investigation continues,” a source from the Armenian Police told Panorama.am.
Numerous Armenian citizens who had bought tour packages from the agency found out at the airport that A & R Tour had not paid for their tickets.
Meanwhile, several hundreds of Armenian tourists were left stranded in Egypt’s beach resort city of Hurghada since the travel agency had failed to pay an airline hired by it.
At an emergency meeting on 26 July, the Armenian government decided to allocate funds from the state budget to arrange the citizens’ return from Hurghada. Two special charter flights have already been operated, with another one scheduled for 1 August.
