Analyst: U.S. government plans to cut financial assistance to Artsakh
The government of the United States plans to cut the financial assistance for mine clearance in Artsakh, political analyst Suren Sargsyan said in a Facebook post.
“This program is financed by the USAID and its suspension is a strong political message. I urge my U.S.-based friends to join the campaign launched by the Armenian National Committee of America. I restate that this will have serious political consequences. It will become a political and legal precedent the consequences of which we all realize,” the analyst said.
Sargsyan added the United States is the only country in the world after Armenia which, not having recognized the independence of Artsakh, provides direct assistance to the country.
