Temperatures to drop by up to 10 degrees in Armenia
Temperatures are expected to drop by up to 10 degrees in Armenia as cold air masses are about to take over the country on Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures will be 8-10 degrees lower in Lori, Tavush, Syunik Provinces and in Artsakh, and 5-6 degrees lower in other regions of Armenia, as well as in capital Yerevan, the head of the Meteorological Center at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Gagik Surenyan said on Facebook.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are predicted in some regions from 2 to 5 August, while no precipitation is expected in the country on 1 August, the ministry said.
Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s. During thunderstorms wind speed may reach up to 15-20 m/s.
Meantime, the ministry warned of a high risk of fire in the valleys and foothills of the country over the next five days.
