Pobeda suspends flights to Armenia’s Gyumi ahead of winter
Pobeda Airlines, a low-cost Russian carrier, is suspending its flights to Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumi ahead of the winter season, TASS reported, citing its sources.
The decision is reportedly connected with the underfilling of fuel tanks at the Gyumri airport.
The Russian news agency says the carrier repeatedly asked the airport management to resolve the fuel issue, but no action was taken.
“Until the end of the summer season, Pobeda will operate all the scheduled flights to Gyumri, but from the winter season ticket sales in the route will be suspended,” the source said.
An official of the carrier confirmed the reports on suspension of the flights. Currently Pobeda carries out 10 Moscow-Yerevan flights per week and was expected to operate 7 flights in winter.
The low-cost carrier started operating flights from Moscow to Gyumri in 2016.
