Investigators probing death of Armenian serviceman in Gyumri
Armenian authorities are investigating the death of a serviceman in the country's second largest city of Gyumri.
Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan first reported the incident on Facebook.
In an official statement on Thursday, the Investigative Committee said the body of junior officer Samvel Mezhlumyan was found hanged from a tree in a district of the city at around 7pm on Wednesday. The serviceman was off-duty.
Military investigators are preparing materials on the case and taking all necessary measures to ensure a thorough and objective investigation.
