Artsakh authorities make efforts to return captive soldier from Azerbaijan
The Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Artsakh and the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE (the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) Chairperson-in-Office have been informed about the fact that Arayik Ghazaryan, a serviceman of the Artsakh Defense Army, has fallen captive to the Azerbaijani side.
“Efforts are being made by Artsakh authorities for repatriation of prisoner of war Arayik Ghazaryan,” the Artsakh Foreign Ministry said in a Facebook post.
Private Arayik Ghazaryan, 19, deserted his military position on Monday, at around 12pm, to end up in the Azerbaijani territory in still unclear circumstances.
