Armenian border troops serviceman arrested on suspicion of fraud, grand theft
A serviceman of the National Security Service (NSS) Border Troops has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and grand theft.
In an official statement on Tuesday, the NSS said the serviceman, whose identity is not disclosed, offered two people to assist in being employed by the security service in change for a bribe.
The serviceman then stole around 3,1 million drams from the two persons under the mentioned and other pretexts by abusing their trust from September to December 2018.
A criminal case has been launched into the incident under the respective article of Armenia’s Criminal Code. The suspect has been charged after being placed under arrest.
Investigation is underway.
