Ombudsman: ICRC has not yet visited Armenian soldier ended up in Azerbaijan
Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Arman Tatoyan has held a telephone conversation with Claire Meytraud, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Armenia Delegation, on the issue of guaranteeing the rights of Arayik Ghazaryan, the Armenian serviceman who ended up in Azerbaijani territory in still unknown circumstances on Monday.
In an official statement on Tuesday, the Ombudsman’s Office said that the ICRC has not yet visited Ghazaryan, however the organization stays focused on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Defender’s Office is also in touch with Arayik Ghazaryan’s family.
Tatoyan will apply to the relevant international organizations in connection with the guaranteeing of the soldier’s rights, including his health condition.
