Armenian FM: Pashinyan-Trump meeting has been and remains on our agenda
A meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. President Donald Trump has been and remains on the Foreign Ministry’s agenda, FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said on Wednesday, commenting on the visit of the PM to the United States in September and his possible meeting with the U.S. leader.
His comments came in response to a question during a joint news conference with Foreign Minister of Uruguay Rodolfo Nin Novoa summing up the outcomes of their talks held earlier on Wednesday.
“I am sure that moment will come, but even if we were to assess the current dynamics, we see that from this perspective we haven’t had any deficit of high-level political dialogue with the United States this year,” Mnatsakanyan said.
The minister called attention to the active dialogue between Armenia and the U.S in the recent period. “The continuity and level of dialogue during this year are principally sufficient for us,” he said.
Commenting on a possible cut of the U.S. financial assistance to Artsakh, the minister said it’s an actively discussed issue, adding the matter is on the agenda of the U.S.-Armenian dialogue.
