Ambassador: No Armenians among hotel fire victims in Ukraine
There are no ethnic Armenians or Armenian citizens among the victims of a major fire that broke out in a hotel in the southern Ukrainian port of Odessa, Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Tigran Seyranyan said in a Facebook post.
“Some of the casualties have not been identified yet,” he noted.
The diplomat said the Armenian Consulate General in Odessa is in contact with the local police and emergency services.
Eight people died and 10 more were injured in the fire that hit Tokyo Star hotel shortly after midnight, RIA Novosti reported.
The fire spread about 1,000 square meters of the hotel.
