Organizers of the World Congress on Information Technology 2019 (WCIT) to be held in Yerevan on 6-9 October, unveiled 5 out of 10 keynote speakers at the event.
At a news conference on Saturday, President of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) Alexander Yesayan said a total of 59 speakers have already confirmed their participation at the congress.
Acer founder Stan Shih, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, Garmin Corporation co-founder and CEO Min Kao, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang and VaynerX Chairman Gary Vaynerchuk are named among the five confirmed keynote speakers.
WCIT 2019 is expected to bring together 2,000 participants from 70 countries, Yesayan said.
The congress will be preceded by a concert at the Republic Square in downtown Yerevan on 6 October, at 8pm.
“The world forum has been held in 16 countries, and we have invited musicians from all those countries to form an orchestra under the baton of conductor Sergey Smbatyan. There will be 70 musicians from 16 countries and 30 musicians from Armenia,” Yesayan said.
He noted for the first time in history an orchestra will play a piece of music arranged by artificial intelligence online.
WCIT is an annual congress where the world’s leading technology thinkers and innovators gather to advance the conversation on the key questions facing the industry and the world.
Framing the discussions of this year's congress will be the theme: “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age - The Power of Decentralization”.
