The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), the local organizer of the 2019 World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) due in Armenia in October, is negotiating with the office of former U.S. President Barack Obama over his possible participation in the event.
“We have been negotiating with Barack Obama's office for four months already,” UATE President Alexander Yesayan told a news conference on Saturday.
Earlier he named five out of the ten keynote speakers who have already confirmed their participation in the congress.
The UATE chief said a total of 59 speakers are set to address the congress scheduled for 6-9 October.
Yesayan promised to disclose the name of the person who will open WCIT 2019 soon, adding surprises are expected.
