96% of wildfires caused by humans, minister of environment says
Аrmenian Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan said on Monday that dozens of fires burst out in Syunik province of Armenia over the recent days were extinguished thanks to joint efforts by firefighters, police, defense ministry, the ministry of environment officers as well as helpful and responsive locals. The minister recalled statistics showing 96% of wildfires are caused by humans.
To note, fires were recorded this year in Meghri regional forest, Arevik national park, in the adjacent territory of “Khosrov” Forest State Reserve.
