Armenia's economic activity index grows by 6.8% in first seven months of 2019
According to the data released by Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS), the economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia increased by 6.8 % in January-July 2019 to compare with the same period of 2018. According to the newly released statistics by NSS, the industrial output of the country rose by 8.4%, compared to January-July 2018 with construction volumes growth amounting for 4.5%. Trade turnover volumes increased by 8.9% in the first eight months of the ongoing year, while the service volume (excluding the trade) rose by 15.2%.
According to the statistics, the consumer prices rose by 1.9% to compare with the previous year, while the electricity production volumes recorded a 5% decrease.
The NSS data indicate that in January-July 2019, the average monthly salary in Armenia grew by 5.9% at an average annual rate of 10%.
