Constitutional Court delays examination of ex-president Kocharyan’s case
The Constitutional Court of Armenia has delayed the examination of Armenian ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s case who is currently in custody charged with overthrowing the constitutional order of Armenia during March 1-2 post-electoral events. As the Court said in a statement on Wednesday, the delay is conditioned with the necessity for additional examination.
To remind, the Court is set to examine the appeals of Robert Kocharyan and the court of general jurisdiction of Yerevan on determining the constitutionality of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code of the country. It earlier applied to the ECHR and the Venice Commission for a consultative opinion.
