When the Hero dreams
“Most people view the life as it is and ask themselves – why? I dream of whatever is impossible and ask - why not?” Major of the Armenian Armed Forces Sargis Stepanyan, who lost both of his legs in Karabakh, wrote on his Facebook page.
Sargis Stepanyan was injured during a mine explosion, losing his two legs and the right arm while trying to take out his fellow serviceman from a minefield in summer 2014, when the Azerbaijani military launched a sabotage infiltration attempt at one of Armenian military posts.
“Somewhere in Artsakh my blood is spilled, somewhere in Artsakh there is part of myself and a small portion of land is watered by my blood. Today I am proud of that,” Major Sargis Stepanyan wrote.
Years ago, when a reporter visited Sargis at hospital, Stepanyan refused to get photographed “to not make Turks happy.”
We now see Sargis and are immensely proud and feel deep admiration for him.
