Putin congratulates Kocharyan on birthday anniversary, wishes strong spirit
Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated on Saturday Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan on his birthday anniversary. As the press office of the ex-president reports, the congratulatory message reads: “Dear Robert Sedrakovich, I extend my sincere congratulations to You on the 65th anniversary of Your birthday. Through your long state service You have gained respect among your compatriots and abroad, significantly contributed to the development of modern Armenia and the security and stability of the South Caucuses.”
Noting President Kocharyan’s great input in strengthening Armenian-Russian rallied elations, Putin wished the former Armenian president sound health and strong spirit
To note., Kocharyan is currently under custody charged with overthrowing Armenia’s constitutional order during the March 1-2, 2008 post-election clashes in Yerevan. The former president and his defense team strongly deny any wrongdoing, calling the criminal persecution politically motivated.
