Armenian airports report 15% growth in passenger flow in August
Armenia’s two airports saw a significant increase in passenger numbers in August 2019 against the same month of 2018.
Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in the second largest city of Gyumri handled 399,635 passengers last month, up by 15% from August 2018, Armenia International Airports told Panorama.am.
In August this year, Zvartnots Airport reported a 16.3% growth in passenger traffic. The airport served 383,504 passengers against 329,666 of the past August.
Shirak Airport welcomed 16,131 passengers last month, down by 9.5% from August 2018 when passenger traffic comprised 17,827 people.
Since the beginning of the year passenger flow at the two airports of Armenia has reached 2,092,131 people, marking a 12% growth from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in January-August 2019 the total number of takeoffs and landings in both airports also recorded a rise of 11% compared to the numbers of 2018.
