PM issues new instruction regarding Amulsar project
Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a consultation was held today on the Amulsar project, the government press service reported.
Minister of Environment Eric Grigoryan reported that inaccurate baseline data had been presented in a number of areas. There was an exchange of views, which focused on Amulsar project-related new environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures, the legal aspects of the problem, the emergence of new environmental factors, etc.
Summing up the discussion, Pashinyan instructed all the government departments and institutions concerned to work in a coordinated manner in order to provide a comprehensive analysis and complete data for further probe into the project, the source added.
To remind, the Government earlier sent the audit report of the latest independent environmental impact report by ELARD consultancy group to assess the necessity of conducting additional assessment on the impact of the excavation activities of Amulsar mine on the environment.
