Mkhitaryan: I am happy to join Roma
Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan says he is happy to join A.S. Roma from Premier League side Arsenal.
The midfielder has joined the Italian club on a season-long loan deal for a fixed fee of €3 million.
In an interview to the Football Federation of Armenia official channel, Mkhitaryan said after talking to Roma’s leadership he revealed that they have set goals of qualifying for the Champions League, being able to fight for the Europa League final and the Coppa Italia.
“I will try my best to help the club," Mkhitaryan said.
Speaking about the Euro 2020 qualifying Group J clash between Armenia and Italy slated for 5 September, the footballer expressed hope they will perform well and achieve good results despite that fact that their rival is strong.
Mkhitaryan is also hopeful that the Armenian team will be able to prove that they still have a chance to reach Euro 2020 during the 8 September qualifying match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
