Fruit, vegetable prices down by 6.52% in Armenia in one month
Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages dropped by 1.2% in Armenia last month from the previous month, which was largely prompted by 8.7% and 2.7% cut in fruit and vegetable prices, respectively.
According to the latest data published by the Statistical Committee, prices of vegetables fell by 4.3% in August this year to compare with August 2018, and by 8.7% from July 2019.
Fruit prices dropped by 5.9% in last month against the same month of last year, and by 2.7% against the previous month.
In total, fruit and vegetable prices dropped by 6.52% in August against July. Having a share of 9.08% in the consumer basket, those product groups contributed to a 0.6 percentage point decrease in the overall consumer prices in the reporting period.
