Italian-themed program to open new concert season of Armenian chamber orchestra
An Italian-themed program will open the 2019-2020 concert season of the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.
The season-opening concert organized in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Armenia is scheduled for 7 September, at 7:30pm, at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan.
The National Chamber Orchestra, led by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Vahan Mardirossian, will perform under the baton of Italian Mario Leotta, the orchestra said on Facebook.
Renowned Italian saxophonist Marco Albonetti will perform as a soloist during the evening, making it his second cooperation with the Armenian national orchestra.
The concert program features compositions by Verdi, Rossini, Rota, Morricone, Piazzolla and Mascagni. Throughout the concert, the digital installation of Remix Portraits by famous Italian artist Franz Cerami, will also be shown on the screens.
Marco Albonetti has performed as a soloist with numerous Italian and international orchestras in international music festivals. The geography of the musician’s concert tours is quite extensive and covers such countries as Italy, France, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Cyprus, Canada, China and the US.
Franz Cerami works at prestigious Italian art structures. His works are a unique combination of art and modern high technology.
