Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs to meet soon
A meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers is scheduled to take place soon, FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told a news conference on Friday.
He noted that there is an agreement between the foreign ministers of the two countries and the co-chairs to announce the meeting simultaneously.
Asked how he assesses the current Nagorno-Karabakh peace process amid the absence of a document on the negotiating table the minister said the key purpose of the talks is now to discuss the numerous parameters that outline a potential settlement in their entirety.
Mnatsakanyan also attached great importance to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing format in the conflict settlement process.
“This is an important principle for us that peace has no alternative, threats don’t lead anywhere, the environment in which negotiations are held, the peace-building environment cannot be ignored. All these represent the content of our current work,” the foreign minister said.
