Main celebrations of Armenia’s Independence Day to take place in Gyumri
The main celebrations of the 28th anniversary of Armenia’s Independece will take place in the country’s second largest city, Gyumri, the government press service reported. The September 21 festive events will start at Gyumri Central park at 11:00. Seven music stages will be installed in different parts of the city where lovers of various genres, including classical, rock, national and electronic music can enjoy. A public discussion entitled “Proportional development of communities” will be held at Hovhannes Shiraz Museum-House to be attended by political and public figures. Meanwhile, during the day artwork and crafts by Gyumri-based artists and masters will be exhibited in pavilions at Rustaveli street.
The central Vardanants square will turn into a kids’ center with events for children of different age groups. The screening of “Great Expectations” by Sona Simonyan at October cinema house and photo exhibition dedicated under the theme of Armenia’s Independence at Aslamazyan Sisters Museums are another options for the guests and the city residents to consider attending. The Central park of the city will host pavilions from well-known Yerevan bars and cafes that will operate until 23:00. The gala concert of the day-long celebrations will star at Vardanants square at 19:00 that will conclude with fireworks at 23:00.
