Two citizens taken to police following the encounter between ex-president Kocharyan’s supporters and opponents
Two people have been taken to police from a demonstration outside the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction where the hearing the hearing of Armenia’s ex-president Robert Kocharyan is underway. The police declined to comment on reasons for detention in an interview with panorama.am, saying updates will be provided later.
Since early morning supporters and opponents of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan have been staging demonstrations outside the Court where the hearing in the case of ex-president Robert Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, ex-CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, at 1pm. The case has been assigned to judge Anna Danibekyan.
Throughout the day the rival protesters chanted slogans and shouted insults at each other along with occasional encounters.
