Contract soldier commits suicide in Armenian village
A contract serviceman committed suicide in a village in Armenia’s Tavush Province, Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan confirmed to Panorama.am.
“The soldier was off-duty during the incident,” Hovhannisyan said.
The serviceman, 21, reportedly hung himself in a livestock barn close to his house in the village of Gandzak.
The incident took place between 10pm, 11 September and 11:20am, 12 September.
No traces of violence were discovered on the body of the deceased, police told Panorama.am.
Investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
No other details were immediately available.
