Families with no fixed place of residence to benefit from social assistance programs
The Cabinet of ministers is set to discuss a legislative initiative aimed at improving the social condition of extremely poor families in Armenia, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan wrote on her Facebook page.
The legislation proposes families with no fixed place of residence and registration in the State Register of Home Population to apply for state programs of social assistance, including family and social allowances, urgent assistance.
It also proposes to simplify the procedures for them to exercise their social rights while changing the place of residence in the State Registry and allow the families to apply to the social protection district agencies of their actual living for that matter.
“Those citizens will be included in program of state allowances, and our assistance will be more targeted,” the minister wrote.
