1 killed, 9 injured after train-bus collision in southern Kazakhstan
A bus driver was killed and nine injured after a train-bus collision in the Almaty region in southern Kazakhstan, the regional mayor's office confirmed on Sunday, according to Xinhua.
The accident took place at around 19:20 local time (1320 GMT) on the Yekaterinburg-Almaty highway. The train at full speed crashed into the bus with 67 people at a crossing at Shamalgan station.
The bus driver drove onto the railway during a traffic jam. The bus remained on the railway track when the train approached. An investigation is underway.
