Baku has no plans to joint CSTO – Hikmet Hajiyev
Baku does not consider joining the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) through an observer status, the Head of foreign relations department at the President’s Office of the Azerbaijani Republic Hikmet Hajiyev stated on Monday.
“Azerbaijan does not consider for now any participation in CSTO, including through an observer status,” the Azerbaijani high-level official told Interfax agency.
Hajiyev added that Azerbaijan enjoys close friendly and partner relations, including in the sphere of military technical cooperation with all CSTO members except Armenia.
To remind, earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov of Russia stated days ago that Russia not against granting of observer status to Azerbaijan.
