Armenian PM appoints interim police and security chiefs
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia has appointed acting police and security chiefs after dismissals of Valeriy Osipyan and Artur Vanetsyan.
At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, the PM said Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Eduard Martirosyan will serve as interim NSS Director.
Meanwhile, First Chief of Police Arman Sargsyan has been appointed interim Police Chief.
“Our colleagues in this status have full authority to lead the two structures. I would like to congratulate and wish good luck to our colleagues,” the PM said. “We are formally waiting for the signing and publicizing of the respective decrees by the president.”
