Romania's Senate declares October 12 as Day of Armenian Language, Alphabet and Culture
Romania's upper house of parliament, the Senate, on Wednesday unanimously adopted a bill declaring October 12 as the Day of Armenian Language, Alphabet and Culture in the country, Armenia’s Ambassador to Romania Sergey Minasyan said on Facebook.
The bill was submitted by Romanian MPs of Armenian descent Varujan Pambuccian and Varujan Vosganian.
According to Romania’s internal procedures, the draft law is yet to be approved by the lower house of parliament and signed by the country's president, the diplomat added.
