New information emerged in Amulsar criminal case, top investigator says
The preliminary investigation in the Amulsar gold mine criminal case will continue since new information has emerged, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan told reporters on Friday.
Ayvazyan, who is the new head of an investigative group dealing with the Amulsar case, said the decision to continue the investigation is based on a notice from the Ministry of Environment.
“We have received a notice from the Ministry of Environment with relevant professional content, which is naturally related to the data in the Amulsar criminal case. Thus, we need to discuss and study the information in the notice and combine it with the previously existing information,” he said.
Ayvazyan said new people have been questions and are yet to be questioned as part of the criminal case.
"We should exhaust all the planned investigative actions, after which we will touch upon the qualifications, including the issue of examinations," he said.
