Azerbaijan fired more than 1,600 shots toward Artsakh defense positions over the past week
Azerbaijani military violated the ceasefire regime along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact around 150 times in the past week, the country’s Defense Ministry said in an official statement on Saturday.
In the period from September 22-28, the adversary fired more than1,600 shots towards the Armenian defense positions from firearms of different calibers, the ministry added.
According to the source, apart from the mentioned ceasefire violations, on 22 September, at around 4:15pm Azerbaijani military attempted a subversive attack on the contact line with Artsakh. As a result of the counteractions by the Defense Army’s personnel, the adversary was pushed back, leaving a dead body in the no man’s land.
Over the past week the adversary attempted air provocation that was effectively prevented. On September 25, at 10:15, the Artsakh air-defense units shot down Orbiter 2 drone of the adversary that was conducting a reconnaissance mission.
Defense Army frontline units confidently control the land and air borders and continue inflicting their will on the adversary, the source added.
